What should I bring to my first workout?
If you have any medical issues like asthma, especially if you have not worked out in a while, please bring your inhaler to be safe. It is extremely important to let the instructor know of any aches, pains, or medical conditions that you may have before class starts. Please bring a towel and a bottle of water. We do have a limited supply that you may be able to purchase on-site but we do encourage you to bring yours. We highly suggest you do not come in and try working out on an empty stomach. Our programs can use a lot of energy to do and if you do not have food in your stomach you may get lighted, nauseous, or dizzy. We NEVER aim to make you feel this way, which is why it is important to eat something with complex carbs. High protein food/shake is not a carb so please ensure it has carbs. The exception to this is, you are medically required not to, or perhaps you are on a keto diet. Again, please let the instructor know before the workout so we can keep an eye on you.
Do I get the chance to meet new friends?
What makes ENDVR Active Community so unique is the variety of opportunities to make new friends and surround yourself with like-minded people. Our workouts are set up in a way where our members support and motivate each other. We also offer multiple fun, social events outside of the gym each month. From bike rides to hikes, fitness excursion trips, catching a ball game, running groups and much more, whether you are new to Houston or just looking for some more active friends, ENDVR Active Community is an amazing place to meet new people.
What sets you apart from other gyms in the area?
Our mindset and approach to fitness is what makes us truly unique. We’re not here to yell at you and force you to workout harder than you are capable of doing. We understand that everybody has different abilities and different reasons to maintain a fitness program. We believe in making your fitness endeavor as unique as you are. From the moment you walk in you’ll feel the difference. No matter what fitness level you are at or why you choose to maintain a fitness routine, you will always feel right at home here.
How often should I come?
If you are a 1st timer or have not worked out in a while we suggest coming in at least 2-4 times a week. However, your goal for each workout should be to do about 20-40 min max. Your primary goal is to build the base and condition your body to acclimate to the workout program. You may feel able to do the whole workout but will more than likely be extremely sore afterward. ENDVR wants you to start your journey like any new adventure should be taken on. Learn and adapt first and as you gain in knowledge and strength then increase the level of your output. This will ensure better success and lessen the likelihood of getting discouraged or sustaining any injuries. No matter your fitness level you may come as often as you choose or your membership allows. Please just go at a pace and level that you are comfortable with. ENDVR is a journey, not a race so aim to try everything but we encourage you to walk before you run.
Can I bring my dog?
Your fur babies need exercise too! ENDVR Active Community is the only gym in the city to offer its members a dog park and dog wash. Bring your pup to play and socialize in either our large or small dog park while you get your workout in. Bring their favorite shampoo and take advantage of our dog wash fully equipped with hot and cold water to keep your fur baby comfortable no matter what time of year it is.
Do you provide fuel and hydration options?
We encourage you to always fuel your body before workouts and to bring plenty of hydration with you. However, if you need something we have a number of items we have hand-picked to meet your pre-workout, intra-workout and post-workout fuel, hydration and recovery needs.
Do I have to be fit to join?
Of course not! That is the reason you are becoming a member. Also, "FIT" has a different meaning for everyone. No matter your fitness level our programs can be made fit and challenge current levels of fitness and activity level. During your first workout, our goal is to get to know you and your goals so we can help create a roadmap for you to use. The four main Guided Workout Programs were created and executed in various ways to be the most successful at helping you reach your goals. Each person coming in will have a different map to follow. Your maps may often seem similar to your buddy next to you, but the way you approach each one will be fit for you.
What payment methods do you accept?
We take all major credit cards and debit cards. We do not accept personal checks.
What if I've never worked out before?
If you have never worked out before please come in about 15-20 min before class so we can learn more about you and help guide you on the best approach. IF you do not feel comfortable or confident in taking our guided workouts after reading the description we encourage you to start with our Fundamental Program Courses.
Do I have to stop eating my favorite foods?
If you know us, you know there are few things we love more than tequila and tacos! We believe a healthy lifestyle includes allowing yourself to indulge in all of your guilty pleasures. The key is moderation and maintaining a nutrition and fitness program that allows you to fit all of your favorites in. Need some help developing that program? No problem, that’s what we are here for!
